Day 1 Yangon Arrival & Sightseeing

Fly to Yangon formerly known as Rangoon and upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, A private vehicle with driver and guide will pick you up and transfer to your hotel and have a little break for refreshing up .

In the afternoon ,you will be shown you the different faces of Yangon from the landmarks to the hidden markets that have sees only few westerners.  During the day you will visit the Sule Pagoda, colonial downtown, the Harbor for sunset . after sunset , transfer back to hotel and overnight stay in Yangon

Day 2 Donation to Orphanage and City Tour

After breakfast , Today’s program to really help the local population in Myanmar and donate something directly to the people who need it most.  Panoramic Myanmar Tours  would like to take you to a local orphanage in Yangon with over 100 orphans who live, play and study at a simple compound in Yangon taken care of by local staff. The orphanage has just enough money to feed everybody a simple meal with steamed rice, some fish paste and maybe a small spoon of vegetables. A healthy meal including lots of nutrition is simply not possible to give daily and you are going to change that today! Together with a translator you leave from your hotel around 8:00AM and head to a local vegetable market to buy tomatoes, cucumbers and all kind of other vegetables. Drive to the orphanage and after a meeting with the head teacher and a visit to the compound it’s time to head to the kitchen, where you will help cleaning and cutting the vegetables for a 100 children and help preparing the meals. Around 11:30AM, when the children have their lunch break from class, you will help serving all the kids. Of course you can join lunch with them and taste the food you prepared for them. Doing the dishes is part of the job this morning. Around 1 PM we will bring you back to your hotel and you can proudly say that you have truly made a contribution to some of the people who need it most. You not only provided them a healthy meal, you also put a smile on their face and made them feel happy, knowing that somebody from overseas cared enough for them to spend a small part of their holiday budget and time to offer a healthy meal for a day.

Take a short break at your hotel and around 04:30 pm, we will head out to Famous Shwedagon Pagoda, the most sacred Pagoda dating back to over 2600 years ago. Enjoy the religious activities around Pagoda platform and move back to hotel and over night stay in Yangon

Day 3 Yangon/Bagan by flight & Bagan Sightseeing

Today  we will begin with an early morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Bagan. This city has the largest area of temples, pagodas, stupas, and ruins in the entire world. Bagan is one of the most culturally historic places in Myanmar as well as a main hub for Buddhist.
Upon arrival to Nyaung U International Airportwe will begin the tour of the city.  Firstly we are to visit local Nyaung Oo Market so as to experience  the wonderful moments of daily life and interactions between people. After that a visit to Shwezigon  pagoda a 1,000-year-old Buddhist stupa whose glittering golden bell-shape dome became a model for pagodas throughout Burma .then proceed to  Htilominlo temple is a large majestic structure towering 46 meters high, a brick structure, that was originally plastered with white stucco, some of which is still in place after that Visit Ananda temple which is one of Bagan’s best known and most beautiful  and symmetrical structure with the layout of a Greek cross and then take a lunch break at good local restaurant and check in at hotel for refreshing and relaxing till afternoon sightseeing.

In the afternoon , We are to visit the most typical local village to experience the reality of Rural Myanmar . you will be transferred to “ West Pwar Saw Village” where you will witness the rural lives of Myanmar , traditional lacquer ware factory “ Small Family Type Factory where you will see all process of making unique lacquer ware products and if you are interested, one of the family member from factory will share you the practical knowledge of making lacquer ware, let you participate in one of the process practically . Learning something new from local people and cooperation personally and practically with local people surely make your trip very memorable. .then proceed to sunset hill to enjoy the panoramic view of Bagan after that transfer back to hotel and overnight stay in Bagan.

Day 4 Optional Balloon Ride and Bagan Discovery

Simply a “must-do” when visiting Bagan. Early morning before sunrise you will be picked up at your hotel and driven to the launch site for a spectacular hot air balloon ride over the temple zone in Bagan. The mostly British balloon pilots are operating each balloon under highest UK safety standards and the views you will get are simply breathtakingly spectacular. After floating in the air and following the wind you will land safely and be welcomed back on the ground by a smiling crew serving cold champagne before bringing you to your hotel.

A full day tour by car, with an experienced guide through Bagan will show you the best known temples of the area. You will begin touring the reaming highlights of Bagan .  From here the guide plans his way to some of the other amazing temples that have been here for hundreds of years. Places like the Pathoetar Myar Temple, its noted for 11 century types mural painting , Nat Hlaung Kyaung Bagan’s Hundu Temple dating back to 1000 years ago, Thatbyinnyu temple, the height one in Bagan , Dhammayangyi and  Sulamani,will certainly impress you.

Lunch will be taken at a local restaurant and drive back to hotel for a short break.

around 4:00PM, you will be transferred to Ayeyar Jetty to take a sunset cruise along mighty Ayeyarwady River to  catch the sunset with some refreshing drinks served. The best part of this tour, simply enjoy the sunset from sunset cruise and drive back to hotel and overnight stay in Bagan.

Day 5 Bagan / Mandalay by flight & Mandalay sightseeing

This morning, after breakfast , you will be transferred to Nyaung U Airport and  a short air-taxi hop whisks us from Bagan to Mandalay. What’s here? Myanmar’s second-largest city, a population of one million souls, and the busy economic hub of the top half of Burma.

Upon arrival to Mandalay International Airport, We’ll start with the street of stone-sculptors, where men attack blocks of white marble with drills and angle-grinders. From the clouds of marble-dust emerge Buddha likenesses in all shapes and sizes to address Burma’s seemingly insatiable appetite for these religious icons .Mandalay’s Mahamuni Pagoda, with its ancient Buddha statue, draws us next. The statue is traditionally held to be one of the only five likenesses of the Buddha in existence and the pagoda is therefore especially revered. Simply walking down the main hallway approaching the central pagoda is an experience! — Past fortune-tellers and stalls selling religious knick-knacks, in the footsteps of the pious and the prayerfulre. And then continue your tour to Gold Leaf Making Workshop then take a break for lunch . after lunch , check in hotel for relaxing and refreshing before afternoon sightseeing.

In the afternoon , we will do sightseeing with local made tri-Shaw like local people do . sightseeing include  Shwe Nandaw Kyaung “ Golden Palace Monastery   ” Orignial Royal Apartment of Grand Mandalay Palace. Then continue to The Word’s largest Book called Kuthodaw Pagoda with 729 stone table with the inscription Buddhist Scripture on. After than drive up to Mandalay Hill to enjoy the Panoramic View of Mandalay and sunset . then back to hotel and overnight stay in Mandalay.

Day 6 Mandalay-Paliek-Ava-Mandalay by car and motorbike

Today, you will leave  around 10:00AM in the direction of Paleik so take your time for breakfast! The snake temple in Paleik is known for the 3 pythons sleeping at the Buddha statue and being washed and fed daily at 11:00AM by local worshippers. Lesser known are the ancient temple ruins in the same area, many of them over 200 years old and partly overgrown by vegetation. From Paleik you will take a motorbike (1 person per motorbike taxi) over a small road leading through “the back door” to the former capital of Ava (Inwa). Enjoy a picnic lunch right next to one of the ancient temple ruins that used to be frequented by kings and queens of the Ava court. Next, continue on by motorbike and stop at any temple you like before taking a ferry across the small river and  meet your drive and heading back towards Mandalay around 5:00 PM.

A fun tour to get to know the real Mandalay, starting with a visit to a viewpoint near the Ayeyarwaddy River for a cold Mandalay beer during sunset. Continue to the busy Yadanar night market to have some traditional snacks and a walk around before heading to one of the most famous beer stations and BBQ restaurants in Mandalay. Your guide will order the food and make sure you’re satisfied. Continue before 8:30 PM to the excellent Mandalay marionettes theatre for a show performed by a mix of traditional dancers, musician and puppeteers. Overnight stay in Mandalay.

Day 7 Mandalay /Heho by flight & Trek to Elephant -Kalaw

This morning after breakfast , the private vehicle with driver and guide will pick you up and transfer to Mandalay airport. Fly one way from Mandalay to Heho Airport which is major gateway to Southern Shan State.  Upon arrival at Heho airport ,Transfer by private vehicle ( 35 km- 45 minutes drive ) to  Kalaw known as Hill Station , located to the west of Inle Lake, and blends the influences of Indian and Nepalese cultures. The area is ideal for walks and treks and it is possible to discover little-visited minority hill tribe villages.

Upon arrival to Kalaw, transfer to hotel for check in first . Your trekking  guide will meet you in Kalaw and take you for a rewarding day in the forest where you will encounter elephants, their mahouts and hill tribe people. Drive to the starting point and begin trekking through beautiful mountainous areas. After 45 minutes of walking (mainly flat terrain) you will arrive in the monastery of a hill tribe village where you will have a jungle lunch based on Nepalese food as is customary in the area. After a 2 hour downhill walk through the forest, arrive in the elephant camp and you will be welcomed by a well deserved cocktail and have time to watch the elephants being washed and fed. Then you will ride the elephants out of the forest and continue from the main road by car back to Kalaw. Overnight stay in Kalaw.

Day 8 Kalaw -Inle by car and boat

Today after breakfast, we are hanging around city centre of A little Kalaw. Visit a colorful market and walk up to Tain Taung Buddhist Monastery to enjoy the panoramic view of a little Kalaw. Then transfer back to hotel and check out hotel and have a lunch break at good local restaurant in Kalaw.

After lunch , drive straight to Nyaung Shwe ( 72 km , 2 hours drive ) Nyaung Shwe is a very lively little town which used to be the home of the Shan prince of Nyaung Shwe (Mr Sao Shwe Thaike, who later became the first prime minister of Myanmar after independence). Nowadays, the town’s market still functions as a busy trading centre for all surrounding villages.

Upon arrival to Nyaung Shwe, transfer to jetty to take a private boat to your hotel ,  upon arrival at your hotel in Inle lake .peddle yourself in a small boat (2 persons per boat) through the small canals and floating gardens to see local life from the water around Mine Tauk Viallge. Then back to hotel and overnight stay in Inle.

Day 9 Inle Sightseeing & Home Cooking Expereince

Inle Lake in southern Shan State is a vast natural lake surrounded by traditional Shan villages. On the lake itself the Intha people have been living for many centuries in village built entirely on stilts on the lake. Today, you will be taken by a private motorboat around the lake to discover its natural beauty, visit the floating gardens and hopefully see some of the famous leg rowers as well as enjoy tea time at a local family’s house. On and around the lake, traditional markets are held in different villages according to a 5-day rotating schedule.

Today you will visit a colourful market frequented by Shan and Pao people living nearby. Afterwards, visit a local cheroot factory (where the Burmese cigars are made),and visit the one of the local house where you will meet up with local cooking master to prepare local dishes together for your delicious lunch .

after lunch , continue your sightseeing to hand-made weaving factory,  and famous Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda then Return to your hotel and enjoy the sunset from boat and overnight stay in Inle .

Day 10 Around Inle Lake with mountain bike

Probably the best way to arrive in Inle Lake! Mountain bikes are ready for you to start a 4 hour biking trip to Indein. The trip is mostly off-road and technically easy with most of the roads flat or downhill. Biking through numerous Pa O villages in an area where few foreigners have been before is a great experience. Stop on the way to enjoy the fantastic views over the lake and the Shan country side. Lunch is included in a local village and at the end of the trip you will visit the ancient ruins of Indein. From Indein continue to your hotel by private motorboat and overnight stay in Inle.

Day 11 Inle-Heho/Yangon by flight

This morning you are free and leisure till your departure for Heho airport, Check out hotel and transfer to Heho Airport to fly back to Yangon. Upon arrival to Yangon Airport, directly transfer to hotel and overnight stay in Yangon.

Day 12 Yangon Departure

Today you are free and relaxed till your departure for Yangon International Airport to catch your international flight. Your driver and representative from local travel agent will stand by at hotel.

We had a wonderful trip trough Myanmar. Thanks to BoBo we came home with great pictures. I highly recommend him for sharing his knowledge of photography, his kindness and respectfully to other people. Some day we will go back to Myanmar, i hope to meet him again.
